Had a number of fake calls today from an Asian Company insisting I must answer a customer survey in order to get taken off their calling list and stop any further calls.
On one call, the caller said he needed information about our energy supplier then admitted they were building a profile of spending habits. He confirmed my phone number - obvious seeing he had just rang it and my post code which was completely wrong. Another call wanted to know if I owned my house or whether is was rented or a council house - why?
By this point I had not confirmed any information and told him to remove my number from their database immediately. I was told if I didn't cooperate the calls would continue - that sounded threatening to me. I replied in that case I will continue to be abusive to you now ?@$? off!
What is annoying is that this is on my home landline. I never give that number out and it is ex directory. I usually always give my mobile number as that is the easiest way of contacting me.
